New Look for Gateshead Scouts

Date: 15th Apr 2024 Author: David Stokes

We are delighted – with the help of Scout Websites – to launch our new website to the world.

On 15th April 2024 we updated our previous website to provide a new look and feel with improved functionality and usability for all users. Based on a modern look and feel incorporating the branding of the Scouts, the new site integrates a new Events calendar, updated information on our Scout Groups and sections and makes it easier than even for new volunteers to join us. It also makes it easier to provide supporters and external stakeholders with important governance information and allows us to share news and photos with our local community.

Trustee Chair David Stokes said “The new website reflects the positive and vibrant changes that are taking place with Gateshead Scouts. We will see incremental additions to the site in the coming months including a members area which will allow our volunteers to more easily access important information to support them in their volunteering. We hope that his new ‘shop window’ into Scouting in Gateshead will encourage more people to volunteer with us as we strive to provide Skills for Life to even more young people.”

We welcome feedback on the new site so please let us know if there is anything you’d like to see.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
